Health Advert Upset Gaming Companies

As seen in a recent BBC news article, there is an ad of a drone faced child playing a video game. With the controller in his hands the text reads, "Risk and early death, just do nothing." Upset by the change4life campaigns as MCV magazine(associated with the gaming side)has complained to the Advertising Standards Authority. The ad was originally made to bring awareness to the child obesity in the UK, and to promote an active lifestyle. However this as has upset the gaming world who feel that the idea video games lead to child obesity is outrageous.

I can see both sides. However I think it will be extremely interesting to watch the rise of video games such as Wi Fit which promote interacting the player in physical gaming. Further, it will be interesting to watch the future of advertisement in relation to health and gaming as the rising popularity for gaming is not going to go anywhere.
