"Can 'World of Warcraft' lead to worlds of wisdom?"

Microsoft is currently studying successful gamers in games such as World of Warcraft and Gears of War. Because many such games require much strategy and planning, they want to know if success in these games carry over to success in the classroom setting. I find this very intriguing. While growing up playing strategy games, I've always wondered whether there was a correlation between classroom strategy and video game strategy and Microsoft may come up with an answer soon. From my experience, there are far too many factors to associate the two. For example, if a positive correlation does arrise, perhaps it was not the game that induced the classroom success but the individual's innate ability to solve problems in or outside the classroom. Such questions pose ambiguity to any proposed solution. Regardless, I look forward to seeing the results!
